Mabin Joins PPCS Board

10-09-2007 | webmaster

A Hawkes Bay farmer with strong deer industry links has become a director of the PPCS board.

Angus Mabin has just been appointed to the board along with Alistair Polson – a former Federated Farmers president – to fill two vacancies created by resignations during the past year.

Mabin farmed deer on his family’s property until 1998. He is known as a business-minded farmer who during the 1990s held a number of positions in the deer industry including chair of the local branch of the Deer Farmers’ Association, Chair of the Richmond/Wrightson Deer Study Programme, Chair of the North Island Velvet Competition and member of the selection and appointment panel for the Game Industry Board.

Meanwhile, PPCS is more than halfway through its annual round of supplier meetings, where farmers get an opportunity to meet with directors and senior management. They’ve completed 14 of the meetings and there are another five to go – four of them in the North Island.
